The Artist

About Meg Race

Born and raised in Connecticut, Meg received her B.A. from Williams College, Williamstown, MA.  She studied art history, drawing, and printmaking with Lane Faison, Whitney Stoddard, Lee Hirshe, and Thomas Krens (luminaries of the so-called 1970’s ‘Williams art mafia’), as well as acrylic painting at Wellesley College during a semester exchange.  Meg renewed her interest in painting when her children were young and, having switched to oil in the mid-1990’s, Meg continues to explore the subject matter of landscape and still life in that medium. Recently naturalized as a Canadian citizen, Meg is immersed in the natural beauty of the South Shore, its rocky coastline, sparkling waters, and luminous, often dramatic, skies.  Meg lives with her husband, musician Paul Halley, in Martin’s River, NS.
